support your well-being in different times

Get Unstuck

Today I write to you in a world filled with uncertainty. In my lifetime this is the most unknown I have faced. I have lived through hurricanes, 9/11 and my own mental health challenges. This feels different. Will could be on lock down. Can I travel? Will people get sick? Will they lose their jobs? Will they go hungry? What is going to happen to the economy?

As humans, we need certainty. We also need uncertainty. We are now getting our fill of uncertainty for the year. And this my friends, is uncomfortable.

Also, there are choices to make each day. As the adage goes “where focus goes energy flows,” this couldn't be more true. I got swirled into the media. I check the news incessantly, I looked up conspiracy theories. Then I reconnected with myself. I am still aware. I am still being responsible, but I am not obsessing. I am noticing the quality of my thoughts, and I am welcoming higher vibing thoughts.

I have lived my life from the mantra, “make things better,” and I feel filled with hope. That on the other side of this, will be a world made better. Why is this experience expressing now, why are people getting sick, why are people dying. These are the same question that come up on regular days. Is this a mortality conversation? We will all die, we will all pass on.

So I ask you, what are you choosing to experience each day until that day comes? We may face constraints right now, unlike what we are used to. Sounds like an opportunity to cultivate thanksgiving and gratitude for all the freedoms we have experienced. Does something about this suck extra experience suck extra? Is this an opportunity to cultivate innovation, for solutions so if this ever happens again it feels different? What about an opportunity to be with yourself? To truly sit and create some sacred time and space to listen to your inner most thoughts and cultivate mindfulness and mediation during this time.
